Extremely Special Roller Sections

by Ed Roberts on 2009-06-22 11:36:06 - Email This

Indoff, Inc provides solutions to some very special applications. The latest such solution involves handling drums of nuclear waste. The drums of waste in this application needed to be lifted & manually conveyed into a processing trailer. Drums enter on front end of trailer, where the nuclear material is processed, and then exits at the end of the trailer. Indoff, Inc engineered the following solution:

 1.   (2) Stainless Steel Hydraulic Scissor Lift Tables, totally rated for outdoor use. Both operated by (1) common Hydraulic Power Unit.

2.   (2) Stainless Steel heavy-duty gravity conveyor sections mounted to the top of the scissor-lift tables. Conveyor includes: Double-sealed roller bearings, roller tube, hex axles, and frame, all fabricated from 330 stainless-steel.

3.   Stainless steel pneumatic operated roller brakes, blade stop, and side guides.

Precision Crowned Conveyor Rollers

by Ed Roberts on 2009-06-02 11:07:15 - Email This

Indoff, Inc also has precision crowned rollers primarily used as return rollers in belt conveyors. These rollers are precision ground to desired degree of taper from centerline of roller to bearing seat. (Both sides) Crowned rollers are normally used in belt conveyors with speeds exceeding 100 FPM. The main purpose of the crowned conveyor roller is to aid in belt tracking for higher speed belt conveyors.

Corrosion Resistant Roller Coatings

by Ed Roberts on 2009-05-04 15:59:11 - Email This
Superior corrosion-resistant coatings with added benefits Corrosion resistant coatings from Electro-Coatings protect metals from corrosion, and give a valuable bonus: extra performance attributes that fight friction, minimize wear and help components maintain precise tolerances. The biggest bonus of all is the application expertise of an Electro-Coatings specialist, ready to sift through multiple options to find the best balance between quality and cost effectiveness.
  • Sulfamate Nickel: an affordable electroless nickel coating, machinable for effective component repair
  • Nye-Kote™: robust corrosion protection with thickness accuracy, friction protection and hardness performance
  • Kanigen®: A well known corrosion protectant that bonds especially well to interior dimensions and intricate, hard-to-plate parts
  • Electralloy™: a thin dense chrome finish that fights corrosion and wear better than traditional plating
  • HVOF: Coatings applied with a technologically advanced spray system that maximizes density of deposits, bond strength, deposit thickness and surface smoothness

Calculating Roller Spacing

by Ed Roberts on 2009-02-17 11:11:42 - Email This

In order to properly convey the product smoothly and efficiently, it should be supported by a minimum of three rollers. To calculate the center to center roller spacing required, divide the length of your package by 3. The dividend is your required spacing. For example, a package 12" long when divided by 3 yields a dividend of 4. Therefore, the required spacing would be 4" center to center. Flexible bottom surfaces require four or more supporting rollers per package, calculating spacing would require the same procedure.

Series HT High-Temp Rollers

by Ed Roberts on 2009-01-07 11:41:01 - Email This

Series HT High-Temp Rollers were designed to provide a way of using rollers to move products into high temperature environments. These rollers can be used in driven or gravity applications. The high-temp rollers are rated for operation at up to 500 degrees Fahrenheit. High-Temp Rollers although not considered economical do address the need for rollers to convey product in a very hot environment. These rollers in both gravity and powered applications are designed to operate at speeds of 1 to 60 FPM. High-Temp Rollers are available in 2.500” and 2.625” diameters, either in Carbon or Stainless steel. Both are assembled with 440 Stainless-Steel precision grade ball bearings. (Designed for use in oven applications)

Characteristics:
  • Roller Tube: 2.500" x 11 Gauge ERW Std. Carbon Roller Tubing
  • Roller Tube: 2.625" x 7 Gauge ERW Std. Carbon Roller Tubing
  • Roller Bearing: MFC-2265-11HDS, Precision 440 Stainless Steel
  • Temperature Rating: Bearing 500 deg F STD. Grease = 500 deg F
  • Between Frames (Inches): 7.000" to 51.000" BF Available
  • Axle: 11/16" CFS Spring-Loaded Carbon Steel Hex Shafting

Chain Driven Accumulating Rollers

by Ed Roberts on 2008-12-09 10:11:13 - Email This

Driven Rollers with Slip Drive

Series 3800 driven rollers were designed to provide a very economical wayof building chain powered conveyor systems with accumulation capability. Products can be stopped and released at any point on the conveyor without stopping the chain drive. The slip drive relies on friction between two coaxial members. The inner sleeve rotates continuously as it is chain driven. The outer shell, the conveyor roller, is in sliding contact with the inner member through a bushing. The torque applied between the inner and outer member is proportional to both load and speed.Rollers are available in 1.900” and 2.500” diameters. Aluminum, stainless steel, and galvanized steel tubes are available in the 1.900" diameter driven rollers, only galvanized steel is offered in the 2.500" diameter rollers. Both are assembled with commercial grade ball bearings.

ABEC-1 Precision Roller Bearings

by Ed Roberts on 2008-11-25 09:14:27 - Email This

Several sizes of our rollers are available with ABEC-1 precision roller bearings.

ABEC-1 precision bearings are available for carbon steel tube in 1.900” x 16 Ga, 1.900" x 12 Ga, 2.500” or 2.625” inch diameter. Precision bearings offer a superior load rating, and higher speeds, while operating at a much lower decibel rating (Quiet Rollers). Rollers are suited for both gravity and powered applications. These precision bearings are grease packed & sealed.
