Plated Steel Conveyor Rollers

by Ed Roberts on 2008-06-23 11:45:48 - Email This
Indoff’s high performance conveyor rollers are ideal for transporting light to medium, to heavy weight packages in either temporary or permanent installations. These are available in various materials; however the operating principle is the same. A round tube, which is generally steel, is supported on a shaft by the bearings. The shaft is contained within formed or structural punched frames either through internal springs or retaining pins.
We manufacture plated conveyor rollers in range of up to 1.000” diameter and in length of 4.000” as per the requirements of the customer. Made of center less grinded ERW or seamless pipes, our rollers provide a very free movement. We can provide seals in these rollers from both sides that protect the ball bearings from dust and other particles. To prevent rusting, the roller tube can be galvanized, zinc, cadmium, nickel or chrome plated. We also offer Polyurethane & PVC coated rollers to protect the components from damage or chemicals or extensive wear.

Harsh Environment Applications

Indoff’s Answer to Harsh Environments

Chemical Production, and Battery plants are infamous for the harsh operating conditions associated with battery production: corrosive acids, warm temperatures, moist atmospheres, high product volume, heavy loads and high impact loading.Several types of rollers have been tried, each having limiting factors:

1. All stainless steel rollers - high initial price, bearing maintenance

2. Carbon steel rollers - corrosion, bearing maintenance

3. PVC rollers - high breakage, roller and bearing maintenance

Indoff, Inc can supply a roller which counters traditional failure modes. The bearings are permanently lubricated ABEC-1 precision bearings in acid resistant, double labyrinth sealed plastic housings. The rollers are inert PVC with steel reinforcement. Shafts are dual spring loaded carbon steel for easy installation.

Tapered Conveyor Rollers

by Ed Roberts on 2008-05-01 12:20:36 - Email This

Tapered Roller Curves (Belt Driven) generally give good package conveying action. The Tapered Roller presents a true conveying surface on a curve giving the correct radial speed along the full length of each roller. The curve radius along with the taper on the roller which comes to a common focal point causes the package to leave the curve in much the same position in which it entered. For best results, there should be live rollers, a minimum of 65% of package length at the entry and at the discharge ends of the curve.

Accumulation Solution for Powered Rollers

by Ed Roberts on 2008-04-21 12:40:05 - Email This

Ultrex accumulating sleeves are hard plastic sleeves that fit loosely over a roller. The main purpose of Ultrex accumulating sleeves is to allow powered conveyor rollers to accumulate product without causing damage to the rollers or the product. There is enough friction created between the conveyor roller and sleeves that products can be conveyed as normal even though the sleeves are not tightly fixed to the rollers. When products are stopped the sleeves are free to stop with the product which prevents damage to the product.  The rollers continue to operate inside the accumulating sleeves.  The smooth surface of the Sleeves slides freely over metal rollers without damaging the sleeve or the roller.

Series 1700 Universal Rollers are equipped with hexagonal or round shafts that may be supplied fixed, spring-loaded, threaded, or tapered. Bearings are sealed against dust and dirt for smooth operation. They are available in 3 styles: commercial, precision, and stainless steel. Bearing housings are made from shock absorbing nylon with radiused ends. Tubes are available in 1.90, 2.50, 3.15, and 3.50 in. diameter for various applications.

Conveyor Roller Overview

by Ed Roberts on 2008-04-02 14:15:59 - Email This
Rollers are the means by which products are transported in most types of unit handling conveyors. Indoff, Inc provides gravity, sprocketed, grooved, and tapered rollers, which are available in many sizes with a number of different configurations. Multiple bearing options, drive options, accessories, assembly options, and more allow us to accommodate almost any application. Rollers can be custom built for extreme temperature ranges, heavy loads, high speeds, dirty, corrosive, and wash-down environments. Our goal is to supply a roller that will last longer, work better, and is built to whatever size the customer needs. We want to be your one-stop-shop for all of your roller solutions. Indoff, Inc defines the length of a roller in terms of the “Between Frame” width or “BF”. Any roller can be built to a specified BF and are not limited to standard lengths. CONVEYOR ROLLER SELECTION & LOAD CAPACITIES

by Ed Roberts on 2008-02-25 11:46:41 - Email This
The roller capacity refers to the maximum load a single roller can support on the conveyor system. Load capacities listed are based on the between frame length of the conveyor roller, actual load ratings for the roller bearing, tube deflection and shaft deflection. Load capacities for precision roller bearings allow for 3/4 of a degree of shaft deflection at the bearing. For commercial unground bearings it is 1 degree. When selecting a roller for a specific material handling application, a good rule of thumb is to allow 25% more capacity than the heaviest product being conveyed. To ensure smooth conveyance of product, Indoff recommends that a minimum of 3 conveyor rollers be in contact with the conveyed product at all times.
